The strongest AI BDR tools in 2026 are AiSDR for sequence-driven SMB outbound, Artisan for an autonomous email BDR with data built in, Jason AI by Reply for teams already on Reply.io, Regie.ai for a single seller who wants a cheap self-serve start, Amplemarket for teams consolidating several tools, and Apollo for teams that want AI inside a database they already pay for.
The category went through a public correction in 2025 and 2026. Most vendors repositioned from replacing SDRs to augmenting them, and the tools that held up are the ones with a clear human-review step and a data layer you can inspect. The buying question is less "which agent" and more "which agent on top of which data".
This is the read on seven options plus a build-it-yourself route: where each one wins, where each one breaks, and what every price actually is. All pricing below was checked on the vendors' own pages in September 2026.
Why the 2026 List Looks Different from 2025
Two category-level shifts changed how teams pick these tools.
The fully autonomous AI SDR pitch softened. The 2024 to 2025 story was that AI BDRs would replace human SDRs. By 2026 most vendors describe an approval step instead: Artisan's FAQ says Ava is autonomous by default but you can approve before sending, lock tone and CTAs and set banned phrases. Reply, Regie and AiSDR all sell the agent as something a seller supervises rather than replaces.
Published pricing became a differentiator. 11x still has no pricing page as of September 2026, and Artisan moved its business and enterprise plans to "pricing scoped on your plan". Meanwhile Regie.ai, Apollo, Reply and AiSDR all publish an entry price you can model without a call. If budget approval comes before the demo, that matters. Our 11x alternatives comparison goes deeper on the tools that publish and the ones that don't.

Comparison Table: AI BDR Tools in 2026
Tool | Pricing (checked Sep 2026) | Best for | Data approach | Honest limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
AiSDR | Solo $250/mo (200 researched contacts), Explore $900/mo (800), Scale $2,500/mo (2,500); 20% off annual | Sequence-driven SMB | AI-researched contacts included by plan; works with your lists | You buy a contact volume, not a seat, so the per-contact price is high next to raw data |
Artisan (Ava) | Free $0 (300 credits/mo); Intern $250/mo and Employee $600/mo billed annually; business plans by quote | Startups wanting an autonomous email BDR | Bundled B2B data (Artisan cites 250M+ verified contacts) | Credits scale with volume; larger teams land on a quote |
Jason AI by Reply | From $500/mo; Reply outreach plans from $49 per user/mo billed annually | Teams already on Reply.io | Reply's own database and live data credits | Tied to the Reply ecosystem; LinkedIn and calls are paid add-ons |
Regie.ai (RegieGO) | Free (250 one-time credits); Pro $49/mo with 5,000 credits; Enterprise custom | One seller filling their own pipeline | Built-in enrichment; empty lookups aren't charged | Pro is single-user, so a team lands on Enterprise |
Amplemarket | Startup $600/mo on an annual term (2 users); Growth and Elite custom | Teams replacing several tools at once | Own database; 13,500 email and 600 phone credits per user per year on Startup | Annual term, and a low phone credit allowance on the entry plan |
Apollo (AI features) | Free; Basic $49, Professional $79, Organization $119 per seat/mo billed annually | Existing Apollo users | Own database, with waterfall enrichment from Basic up | AI sits inside Apollo's workflow; a phone number costs 8 credits against 1 for an email |
11x | Not published; demo required | Teams wanting an autonomous SDR plus a phone agent from one vendor | Bundled data layer (11x's claim) | No public price, so you can't model cost before a sales call |
Custom (Databar + Claude Code) | Databar Build $99/mo with 5,000 credits; Scale $495/mo with 50,000 credits | Technical teams | 100+ data sources, combined in waterfalls | Requires build effort; not a turnkey buy |
AiSDR: Best for Sequence-Driven SMB Outbound
AiSDR prices by how many contacts it researches each month rather than by seat. Solo is $250 a month for 200 AI-researched contacts, 1 user, 1 domain, 3 mailboxes and 1 LinkedIn account, billed monthly with cancel anytime. Explore is $900 a month for 800 contacts and Scale is $2,500 for 2,500, both with unlimited users and a quarterly commitment. Annual billing takes 20% off. Strongest fit for SMB teams that want AI-generated copy plugged into a sequence engine without an annual contract. The honest limitation: the per-contact price is high if you are used to buying raw contact data, because you are paying for the research and the writing as well as the record.

Artisan: Best Autonomous Email BDR for Startups
Artisan sells Ava, an AI BDR that finds leads, writes outreach, handles replies and books meetings. On the startup pricing view, Free gives 300 credits a month, Intern is $250 a month billed annually with 10,000 credits (Artisan estimates about 500 leads contacted), and Employee is $600 a month billed annually with 25,000 credits (about 1,250 leads). Business and enterprise plans are scoped by sales. Artisan publishes its credit costs: 2 credits for email enrichment, 10 for phone enrichment, 2 for an autonomous reply, and roughly 20 per person for an end-to-end campaign. The honest limitation: credits scale with volume, so model your monthly lead count with Artisan's estimator before you commit to annual billing.
Jason AI by Reply: Best Inside Reply.io
Jason AI sits inside Reply.io as the AI SDR for prospect search, sequence design and reply handling. It starts from $500 a month, and Reply's own outreach plans start at $49 per user per month billed annually for email volume, or $89 per user per month billed annually for multichannel. Strongest fit for teams already sequencing in Reply who want AI on top rather than a separate vendor. The honest limitation: it is tied to the Reply ecosystem, and LinkedIn automation ($69 per account per month) and calls and SMS ($29 per account per month) are add-ons on the email volume plan.

Regie.ai: Best Cheap Self-Serve Starting Point
Regie.ai's current self-serve product, RegieGO, is one workspace for research, enrichment, drafting, a dialer and agents. Free includes 250 one-time credits. Pro is $49 a month on monthly billing, 17% less on annual, with 5,000 credits a month, and Regie says enrichment that finds nothing costs nothing. Enterprise adds team workspaces, shared agents, custom CRM sync and SOC 2. Strongest fit for one seller filling their own pipeline. The honest limitation: Pro is a single-user plan and credits reset each period rather than rolling over, so a team lands on Enterprise pricing.
Amplemarket: Best for Consolidating Several Tools
Amplemarket bundles a B2B database, multichannel sequences, intent signals and its Duo AI features in one contract. Startup is $600 a month on an annual term with 2 users and 27,000 contacts, including 13,500 email credits and 600 phone credits per user per year. Growth (4 users, 140,000 contacts) and Elite (10 users, 400,000 contacts) are custom priced and add Duo Voice and Duo Inbox. The pricing page also lists an MCP for prospecting from Claude or ChatGPT. The honest limitation: the annual term, and a phone credit allowance on Startup that runs out fast if dials are a real channel for you.
Apollo (AI Features): Best AI Inside an Existing Sales Tool
Apollo's AI features sit inside the Apollo platform alongside the data and sequence engine. Basic is $49, Professional $79 and Organization $119 per seat per month billed annually, with a Free plan underneath; Professional is the first tier that includes Agents alongside AI Research and AI lead scoring, and waterfall enrichment appears from Basic up. Strongest fit for teams already on Apollo who want AI-assist mode without adding a vendor. The honest limitation: credits are the real constraint, since a phone number costs 8 credits against 1 for an email. Our Apollo pricing guide has every tier and credit cost.
11x: The Autonomy-First Option, With No Public Price
11x sells two "digital workers": Alice, an outbound SDR, and Julian, an inbound phone agent. Strongest fit for teams that want autonomous outbound and a phone agent from one vendor and are willing to run a scoped pilot. The honest limitation: 11x publishes no pricing as of September 2026 and its pricing URL returns a 404, so every evaluation starts with a demo. Worth evaluating only with explicit guardrails and a pilot scope, and read the exit terms before you sign. Our 11x alternatives piece covers the reporting buyers usually ask about and what each replacement costs.

Custom Stack on Databar plus Claude Code: Best for Technical Teams
The technical-buyer alternative is to build the AI BDR layer on top of your own data layer plus Claude Code or a custom Python agent. Strongest fit for teams with a GTM engineer who can wire enrichment, scoring, sequencing and reply handling. The advantage is full control over the data sources, the prompts and the human-review gates. Databar covers the data half: 100+ data sources reachable through the Databar MCP and the REST API and CLI, so an agent can run a waterfall lookup inside a conversation. The honest limitation: it requires build effort and someone to maintain it. Not a turnkey buy. Our guides to Claude Code for GTM teams and data providers for AI agents show how teams set this up.

A Note on Bosh.ai
An earlier version of this post recommended Bosh.ai for high-volume cold email. As of September 2026 the bosh.ai domain no longer serves a product site: the apex redirects to a www host that doesn't respond, and the domain's DNS points at a registrar parking page. We can't verify the product, its pricing or its data sourcing, so we've removed it rather than leave a recommendation you can't act on.
Why Most AI BDR Tools Struggle Without a Strong Data Layer
The pattern across 2025 churn was consistent: tools that paired bundled data with strong autonomy claims disappointed at scale.
A single source has one answer for each record. When it doesn't have the email, the agent doesn't know that and writes to whatever it was given. Running the same lookup across several providers in a cascade gives you another attempt on the records the first source missed, and a place to verify the result before it reaches the sequencer. That's the difference most AI BDR comparisons skip, and the same pattern behind the data providers teams pick for AI agents. Put the email check after the lookup rather than after the campaign; our email validation comparison covers the options.

How to Pick Among Them
Pick by team type, motion and risk tolerance, not by autonomy promises.
Choose AiSDR if you want AI drafts and research plugged into a sequence engine without an annual contract.
Choose Artisan if you want an autonomous email BDR with data included and a published startup price.
Choose Jason AI if you are already on Reply.io.
Choose Regie.ai if you are one seller and want the cheapest self-serve start.
Choose Amplemarket if you are replacing a database, a sequencer and an AI copilot in one go.
Choose Apollo if you are already on Apollo and want AI-assist mode.
Choose 11x if you want full autonomy plus a phone agent and can absorb a sales-led evaluation. Set tight guardrails.
Choose a custom stack on Databar plus Claude Code if you have a GTM engineer and want full control over data quality and agent behaviour.
The hybrid pattern most production teams converge on is a turnkey AI BDR for drafts plus a data layer underneath that they can inspect and swap. Two contracts cover the workload. The same pattern shows up across the agentic GTM stack 5-layer framework and in AI SDR vs human SDR.
The Data Layer Is the Real Differentiator
Every tool above either bundles a data layer or expects you to bring your own. The agent layer is largely commoditized: the same models write the drafts. What differs is how many places the tool can look before it gives up on a record, and whether you can see which source answered. When you pilot one, judge the data separately from the copy. The data layer for AI agents covers how to test that part on its own.

FAQ
What are the best AI BDR tools in 2026?
AiSDR for sequence-driven SMB, Artisan for an autonomous email BDR, Jason AI for Reply.io users, Regie.ai for a single seller, Amplemarket for consolidating tools, Apollo for AI inside an existing database, 11x for autonomy-first teams that accept a sales-led quote, and a custom stack on Databar plus Claude Code for technical teams. Each fits a specific motion. There is no universal best.
Which AI BDR tool is cheapest?
On published entry prices, Regie.ai Pro at $49 a month and Apollo Basic at $49 per seat per month billed annually are the lowest, and both have free plans. They are closer to AI-assisted prospecting than a fully autonomous SDR. Among the autonomous options, AiSDR Solo and Artisan Intern both start at $250 a month.
Should I buy an AI BDR or build one?
Buy if you want fast time to value and can live with the constraints of the bundled tool. Build if you have a GTM engineer and want control over data sources, prompts and human-review gates. Building takes iteration, so it is a poor fit if you need pipeline this quarter.
What data does an AI BDR need to work well?
Accurate contact details, a correct current title and employer, and a verification step before anything sends. Where the tool bundles its data, ask which source answered a given record and what happens when that source has nothing. Where you bring your own, running several providers in a cascade gives the agent another attempt instead of a blank field.
Are AI BDRs replacing human SDRs?
The vendors themselves have moved away from that claim. Artisan, Reply, Regie and AiSDR all describe a supervised model in 2026: the agent researches, drafts and handles routine replies, and a human sets guardrails, approves and takes the live conversations.
What is the riskiest way to deploy one?
Full autonomy with no review gate. The messages go out under your company name and your sending domains, so a bad batch costs brand trust and deliverability at the same time. Start with approval on, keep it on until the error rate is one you can live with, and pilot on a segment you know well enough to spot a wrong fact.
Pick the AI BDR That Matches Your Data Layer
The tools that hold up are the ones that either bundle good data or integrate cleanly with a data layer you can inspect. The agent layer is largely commoditized. The data layer is where reliability lives.
Databar covers that layer: 100+ data sources, waterfall enrichment, a hosted MCP, a REST API, a Python SDK and a CLI. In a waterfall only the provider that returns data is charged, and lookups that return nothing aren't charged. Plans are published on the pricing page, and the 14-day trial includes the full product and 100 credits. Start free or Book a founder demo.
